2026 Pegasus U19 Summer Rowing Program
Begins: June 8th
Ends: August 10th
If you’re looking to take your rowing to a higher level, this is the team for you.
Our intensive program is designed to significantly advance rower’s technique, speed, and competitiveness.
This program is ideal for athletes who have already been rowing at least 1+ year.
What to expect
– 32-36 athletes (16-18 men, 16-18 women)
– Initial individualized goal setting session
– 9 weekly on-the-water practices
– Video for recruiting purposes
– The opportunity to compete for a spot in a boat racing at USRowing Summer National Championships and/or Royal Canadian Henley

Please note that participation in the USRowing RowFest National Championships in Michigan and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta is based on coach assessment.

Summer Program Fee: $1,925
Fee covers all cost of entries to regional regattas and trailer transportation. Rowers must individually pay for:
- Personal transportation, accommodations, and meals at regional and local regattas.
- One Racing Uni, ($105)
- Three training tops and bottoms (estimated at $150)
- USRowing Championship Membership ($65) if not already registered.
- Any scratch fees related to inability to compete after scratch deadline has passed.
- All extra related expenses, including accommodations, travel, meals etc. for travel to regattas in Washington D.C., Virginia, Michigan, or St. Catharineโs Canada.
- An equal share divided amongst rowers for coachesโ travel, accommodation, and meal expenses related to the D.C., Virginia, Michigan and St. Catharine regatta trips.

Scholarships
- Scholarship funds are available (please inquire).

Program Policy:
All prospective team members must complete an application form (download here) with contact information for their current or most recent coach.
– All prospective team members must be members in good standing with their current or most recent program.
– All program-related communication goes through the athletes: Athletes will be on an official program email list and program GroupMe. It is their responsibility to check email and messages regularly and communicate relevant updates to parents/guardians.
– Athletes earn their seat every day: Rowing is a meritocracy where effort, ownership, and consistent performance earns opportunities. This puts the athletes in the driver seat of their opportunities this summer. They will be held to standards and expected to meet and work towards them. Athletes are expected to comply with all Pegasus rules, policies, and safety guidelines.
– Active participation: Athletes are expected to be active participants in their summer experience. It is the responsibility of the coach to provide a safe, transparent, and productive learning environment. There may be instances when an athlete has questions about aspects of the training and/or selection. It is the responsibility of the athlete to communicate with the coach.
– Transparency: The program will be structured to provide transparency in decision-making around training, boating, and racing. We entrust the coaches to make and communicate these decisions based on cumulative data collection and observation.
– All athletes and parents are required to sign and comply with the Pegasus Code of Conduct
– Participation on the team is a privilege and entirely at the discretion of the coaching staff. No refund will be provided to any participant who is removed from the program.
